CALIFORNIA NORTHERN RAILROAD (CFNR)

The CFNR encompasses 261 miles of track operating in California. The CFNR interchanges with the Union Pacific Railroad at four locations and with the shortlines of Napa Valley Railroad and Northwestern Pacific Railroad.

The CFNR major commodities are all food related, being tomato products, olives, rice, cheese, frozen foods, beer, wine and wheat with some stone, petroleum products, and chemicals.

The CFNR customers are served daily and enjoy scheduled service.

The CFNR also features a locomotive shop for routine inspections and maintenance.

Insurance Requirements

When working within the railroad right of way or for personal use of grade crossings applicants are required to obtain and provide proof of Railroad Protective Liability Insurance.
