Rockdale, Sandow, & Southern Railroad (RSS)

The RSS Railroad is located in Sandow, TX and interchanges with the Union Pacific Railway at Marjorie, TX. 

The RSS Railroad was incorporated in 1923 and provides a variety of services to customers that are served.  These include unit train services, intraplant switching, track maintenance, car inspections and cleaning and traffic coordination.

The RSS moves main commodities of Alumina, Petroleum Code, Electrode Binder Pitch, Aluminum Ingot, and Slag.

Insurance Requirements

When working within the railroad right of way or for personal use of grade crossings applicants are required to obtain and provide proof of Railroad Protective Liability Insurance.
