Property Leases (land and/or buildings)
A written request should be forwarded to RailAmerica's Real Estate Department at the following address:

* Your request must include a letter of intent to lease and a completed lease/license application (see link at bottom of page) including, at a minimum, the following information:

• Legal description or other detailed description of the property
  
• Railroad milepost
  
• Map showing the general vicinity (such as country road map, etc.)
  
• Larger-scale plat map showing specific boundaries of the property
  
• The detailed intended use of the property

Each submitted application must be accompanied by a check made payable to "RailAmerica, Inc." in the amount of $900.00 to cover administrative review and document preparation fees. This amount is non-refundable in the event that a lease transaction is not consummated.

Several internal departments will review such requests, and the condition and value of the property will be verified. The property may not be used until both parties have a fully executed agreement.

After the initial review is complete, and if it is approved, you will receive the Lease Agreement via mail. The Lease Agreement outlines the conditions and terms along with any insurance requirements.
